Hello my brothers & sisters today we are going to talk about dishonoring God which by the way is a big mistake!! Lets take a look at Genesis 3:10-13:
10 He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid." 11 And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?" 12 The man said, "The woman you put here with me--she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it." 13 Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."In some cases we do not mean to dishonor God but we do it and on a daily basis just by our actions. First of all just think for a moment what do you claim to be? If you claim to be walking with Christ then how can you honestly say that you are walking with Christ if your life does not show it. See we can't just say were walking with Christ but our life has to be a reflection of that. One way to dishonor the Lord is to say that you are walking with him but you still committing sins like it ain't nobodies business. We got it twisted if we think that we are walking with God and we are still sinning out of control because the only one you are walking with is the deciever Satan. Another way we can dishonor God is to disobey him. When we disobey him we better watch out because his wrath will come down on us. You have to put God first in your life and if he is not then you cannot honestly say that you are walking with him. The bible says that Adam & Eve disobeyed God they hid from him in the garden. I tell you this there ain't no where to hide if you are being decieved by Satan. the only thing you are doing is heading down a path of destruction. Know this God can't even see us unless we are pure and living a righteous life. Don't be like Adam and Eve and be decieved by the serpent walk with God for real and not for fake but for real give your life to him and put him first. Let him guide you every hour of every day. Say this with me Lord come into my heart and guide me let your will be done in me and not my will. If you said that with me and meant it then thats the first step and begin to let the spirit of God flow in you and work in you. In closing think about this why would I want to dishonor the one who created me and has controll over whether I live or die think about that. A Message From God Brought To You By As One Ministries.

Daily Sermon 4/12/2011: Obedience
Hello my brothers & sisters today we are going to talk about how we have to be obedient to the Lord and what happens when we are not obedient to God. Lets take a moment to look at Genesis 3:6-9:
6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. 8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"Obedience is very important to God because if we don't have that then we can't expect God to move for us. See the way that it works is that God tells us to do something and we do it even if it may not make sense to us we do it anyway to be obedient to God. Take a look at Genesis 3:6-9. The bible says that God told Adam & Eve not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good & evil. But because it was pleasing to the eye Eve ate from it and gave Adam a piece from the tree of knowledge. Now this is a good example of why it is important to be obedient to the Lord because when we are not obedient to the Lord it means that we are doing what we want to do which is not of God so don't be fooled. We have the nerve to keep asking him for things but we cannot be obedient to him. Guess what my brothers & sisters he doesn't hear you. You know another thing is that he will let what ever is going to happen to us happen which can only be bad if we are not doing what the Lord tells us. My brothers & sisters we have to learn how to be obedient to the Lord because what he tells us to do is what is best for us because he loves us and wants the best for us. But when we don't listen to him we don't hear the solution to our problems because he directs us on how to solve every problem big or small that we may come across. It is very important that we take him seriously. If you say you love the Lord then you must be obedient to him. I'll say this in closing will you follow the Lord and let the Lord lead you or will you let Satan lead you right into the pits of hell think about that. Daily Sermon 4/4/2011: Temptation
Hello my brothers & sisters today we are going to talk about the serpent and how he tempts us. Lets take a look at Genesis 3:1-5:
1 Now the serpent1 was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?2" 2 The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,33 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "44 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman.55 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God,6 knowing good and evil."Folks let take a moment to think. I want you to think about your everyday life and ask yourself what is it that tempts me on a day to day basis? If you notice everytime you get close to God here comes the serpent to try to tempt you. Satan works to decieve us and try to get us as far away from God as he can. See folks what you got to realize is no one said that the step to God was going to be easy because it is not. The bible says that the serpent was more crafty than any other wild animal the Lord God had made. See when you take that step to God you must be tested to see if you are really ready. For example lets say you are taking social studies well at the end of each chapter there is a test to see what you know and God does us the same way only he uses satan to do it. As brothers & sisters in Christ we have to learn how to be like Jesus and resist temptation because things of this world will only lead you to hell. So folk if you are working on your relationship with God know one thing you will be tested just as Jesus was to see how strong your faith and love for God is. Its a battle out there between good & Evil which side will you take ask yourself that. In closing I want to say this if you are not being tested by God than I would be worried because that means God is not paying any attention to you so think about that. Until next time may you be blessed. A Message From God Brought To You By As One Ministries.

Daily Sermon 3/31/2011: The Power Of Marriage
Today we are going to discuss marriage and how God feels about marriage. Lets take a look at Genesis 2:18-25:
18 The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." 19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adamh no suitable helper was found. 21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribsi and closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the ribj he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. 23 The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,k ' for she was taken out of man." 24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. 25 The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame. The bible says that man shall become one with his wife now alot of you misunderstand the power of marriage I know I did at first but you have to become one with your spouse. Always remember if Gods blessing is not upon your marriage then your marriage will fall apart. The bible says that adam fell into a deep sleep so that one of his ribs could be taken out of his body to create the woman. A woman was made to be our help mates while we are still on earth. God is married to the church so if you look at that perspective then you will see that God is serious about marriages now that doesn't mean that you will be judged for your spouses deeds. What that means is that you all will work together as a team and nothing shall come between you. A lot of us play sports so look at it from this perspective when you are married all your problems are both of your problem so just like you have to work together as a team to get the ball in the basket then you do the same in marriage. "United We Stand; Divided We Fall." Now what that means if we come together we can accomplish our goals but if we divide ourselves away from each other than we will never accomplish anything. So I will close leaving you with this thought. When God looks at us as husband and wife he blesses us as a team not as individuals. A Message From God Brought To You By As One Ministries.

Daily Sermon 3/30/2011: Godly Orders To Adam
Hello welcome my brothers & sisters hold tight to your seat because we are gonna take a ride today. Take a moment and look at Genesis 2:8-17:
8 Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9 And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground--trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. 10 A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters. 11 The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 (The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx are also there.) 13 The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush. 14 The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Asshur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates. 15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."As we journey through the garden of Eden that the Lord planted we can appreciate Gods works just as Adam did. God supplied Adam with food to eat and every thing that he needed. In that perspective we have to look at our own lives is God supplying us with everything we need? If not than we really have to look deeply within and see why he is not. Sometimes we pray and wonder why God does not answer us but ask yourself this if we expect God to answer our prayers then why don't we obey and follow his instructions for our life. In order to recieve from God we have to go through his son Jesus Christ but also we have to be willing and able to obey. When we obey God we make our lives a whole lot easier because God is not going to ask us to do something that is going to cause us harm, pain, or hurt. God loves his children and he is our heavenly father who wants the best for his children. If we take a look at Adam & Eve in the bible they are a prime example of what happens when we do not obey God. The bible says that God told Adam not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. When the Lord God gives us an order he expects us to comply with no resistence. That is how you recieve your blessings from God by obeying. A Message From God Brought To You By As One Ministries.

Daily Sermon 3/29/2011: The holy Day
Today my brothers & sisters we are talking about the holy day. Take a moment to look at Genesis 2:2-7:
2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
Adam and Eve
4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens-- 5 and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, 6 but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground-- 7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. The bible says that the Lord rested on the seventh day so that is the day that we are suppose to make holy. Just imagine that God created the heavens and the earth in six days and decided to rest on the 7th day well that goes to show you that a man's work week can consist of 6 days but you must rest on that 7th day. Some of us have a lot on our plate as we call it but we have to give God his time or we may not see another day. Remember God created man from the dust of the ground and if he wishes us to return their then we will. God is above all things especially if he created it don't you think? Sometimes we don't like to admit it but God is the reason you & I are still here breathing and we can't take credit for that because that is God all the way. God made the earth so man could rule over the animals, livestock, plants, birds, & ETC. God is just asking us to give him one day. Which you want to really give him more than a day but sometimes our schedule is so bussy so we can at least give him one day. The world don't believe in giving one day to the Lord but as Gods people we don't have a choice. We always have to remember one thing and that is that God made us from the dust of the ground so next time you see dust remember thats where you & I came from. If you won't give God his time who will you give all your time to? The world thats not going to get you in to heaven remember that my brothers & sisters. Satan tries to distract us from giving the Lord his time but it is important that we let nothing get in the way of giving the Lord his time. In closing I will say this a holy day is very important to our creater is it important to you? You answer that for yourself and ask yourself who wakes you up everyday and does he have to wake you up? Daily Sermon 3/25/2011: The Completion Of God Creation
Hello my brothers & sisters today lets take a moment to look at Genesis 2:1:
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.
First of all we have all had projects in our life that we have worked on and completed and some of us are still working on projects in our life. But just take a moment and think back when you finished that project that you completed how did you feel? After you put your all into it how did it feel to complete it? It took God Six days to create the heavens & the earth and the bible says that God was satisfied with his work. People what project are you working on today and I hope its one that will change your life for the best. The project that we should all be working on is building a stronger relationship with God. The bible says that it is a lifelong journey. What we got to realize is that God created everything the heavens & the earth and the creatures. So in order for you to be here today was Gods project and we are all still Gods projects. God want to do wonderful things in your life but he can only do so if we let him. Whats holding you back from the Lord today do you know? Whatever it is let God take the load off of you and carry it for you. Because we look at things differently then God does. Remember God sense & man sense are entirely different. The bible says in Job 38:7:
7 while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?
If you get involved with the Lord he will never leave you asstray. God is just waiting for us to make that life changing decision. Make your project be to live a joyful life in the Lord and the only way to do that is to read your bible. Try this my brothers & sisters read a chapter a day starting with Genesis 1. Now that's a project that will make you feel real good . So I'll say this and I will close. Let Gods word be a guide to you on how you are suppose to live your life. Daily Sermon 3/24/2011: Generations of the Heavens and of the Earth
Hello my brothers & sisters we are going to be discussing the generations of the heavens and of the earth today so please take a moment to look at Genesis 2:2-7:
2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens-- 5 and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, 6 but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground-- 7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.THE FIRST SABBATH. and he rested on the seventh day--not to repose from exhaustion with labor (see Isaiah 40:28 ), but ceased from working, an example equivalent to a command that we also should cease from labor of every kind.blessed and sanctified the seventh day--a peculiar distinction put upon it above the other six days, and showing it was devoted to sacred purposes. The institution of the Sabbath is as old as creation, giving rise to that weekly division of time which prevailed in the earliest ages. It is a wise and beneficent law, affording that regular interval of rest which the physical nature of man and the animals employed in his service requires, and the neglect of which brings both to premature decay. Moreover, it secures an appointed season for religious worship, and if it was necessary in a state of primeval innocence, how much more so now, when mankind has a strong tendency to forget God and His claims? These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth--the history or account of their production. Whence did Moses obtain this account so different from the puerile and absurd fictions of the heathen? Not from any human source, for man was not in existence to witness it; not from the light of nature or reason, for though they proclaim the eternal power and Godhead by the things which are made, they cannot tell how they were made. None but the Creator Himself could give this information, and therefore it is through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God ( Hebrews 11:3 ).Here the sacred writer supplies a few more particulars about the first pair. formed--had FORMED MAN OUT OF THE DUST OF THE GROUND. Science has proved that the substance of his flesh, sinews, and bones, consists of the very same elements as the soil which forms the crust of the earth and the limestone that lies embedded in its bowels. But from that mean material what an admirable structure has been reared in the human body ( Psalms 139:14 ). the breath of life--literally, of lives, not only animal but spiritual life. If the body is so admirable, how much more the soul with all its varied faculties. breathed into his nostrils the breath of life--not that the Creator literally performed this act, but respiration being the medium and sign of life, this phrase is used to show that man's life originated in a different way from his body--being implanted directly by God ( Ecclesiastes 12:7 ), and hence in the new creation of the soul Christ breathed on His disciples ( John 20:22 ). Daily Sermon 3/23/2011: The Heavens
Hello my brothers & sisters today we are going to talk about the heavens so lets take a look at Genesis 2:1:
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.
. THE NARRATIVE OF THE SIX DAYS' CREATION CONTINUED. The course of the narrative is improperly broken by the division of the chapter. The heavens--the firmament or atmosphere.
host--a multitude, a numerous array, usually connected in Scripture with heaven only, but here with the earth also, meaning all that they contain. Were finished--brought to completion. No permanent change has ever since been made in the course of the world, no new species of animals been formed, no law of nature repealed or added to. They could have been finished in a moment as well as in six days, but the work of creation was gradual for the instruction of man, as well, perhaps, as of higher creatures ( Job 38:7 ). Daily Sermon 3/22/2011: The Beginning Part 7
Hello my brothers & sisters today we are going to talk about the sixth and final day of gods creation. Take a moment to look at Genesis 1:24-31:
24 And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." 29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground--everything that has the breath of life in it--I give every green plant for food." And it was so. 31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning--the sixth day.
SIXTH DAY. A farther advance was made by the creation of terrestrial animals, all the various species of which are included in three classes: (1) cattle, the herbivorous kind capable of labor or domestication.
beasts of the earth--(2) wild animals, whose ravenous natures were then kept in check, and (3) all the various forms of creeping things--from the huge reptiles to the insignificant caterpillars. The last stage in the progress of creation being now reached--God said, Let us make man--words which show the peculiar importance of the work to be done, the formation of a creature, who was to be God's representative, clothed with authority and rule as visible head and monarch of the world. In our image, after our likeness--This was a peculiar distinction, the value attached to which appears in the words being twice mentioned. And in what did this image of God consist? Not in the erect form or features of man, not in his intellect, for the devil and his angels are, in this respect, far superior; not in his immortality, for he has not, like God, a past as well as a future eternity of being; but in the moral dispositions of his soul, commonly called original righteousness ( Ecclesiastes 7:29 ). As the new creation is only a restoration of this image, the history of the one throws light on the other; and we are informed that it is renewed after the image of God in knowledge, righteousness, and true holiness ( Colossians 3:10 , Ephesians 4:24 ). Be fruitful, &c.--The human race in every country and age has been the offspring of the first pair. Amid all the varieties found among men, some black, some copper-colored, others white, the researches of modern science lead to a conclusion, fully accordant with the sacred history, that they are all of one species and of one family ( Acts 17:26 ). What power in the word of God! "He spake and it was done. He commanded and all things stood fast" [ Psalms 33:9 ]. "Great and manifold are thy works, Lord God Almighty! in wisdom hast thou made them all" [ Psalms 104:24 ]. We admire that wisdom, not only in the regular progress of creation, but in its perfect adaptation to the end. God is represented as pausing at every stage to look at His work. No wonder He contemplated it with complacency. Every object was in its right place, every vegetable process going on in season, every animal in its structure and instincts suited to its mode of life and its use in the economy of the world. He saw everything that He had made answering the plan which His eternal wisdom had conceived; and, "Behold it was very good" [ Genesis 1:31 ].

Daily Sermon 3/21/2011: The Beginning Part 6
Hello My Brothers & Sisters today we are going to go in detail about the fifth day. So Lets take a moment to look at Genesis 1:20-23:
20 And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." 23 And there was evening, and there was morning--the fifth day. FIFTH DAY. The signs of animal life appeared in the waters and in the air.
20. moving creature--all oviparous animals, both among the finny and the feathery tribes--remarkable for their rapid and prodigious increase. fowl--means every flying thing: The word rendered "whales," includes also sharks, crocodiles, &c.; so that from the countless shoals of small fish to the great sea monsters, from the tiny insect to the king of birds, the waters and the air were suddenly made to swarm with creatures formed to live and sport in their respective elements. Daily Sermon 3/20/2011: The Beginning Part 5
Hello My Brothers & Sisters today we are going to be talking about the fourth day of Gods creation. Lets get started first we are going to look at Genesis 1:14-19:
14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so. 16 God made two great lights--the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning--the fourth day. let there be lights in the firmament--The atmosphere being completely purified, the sun, moon, and stars were for the first time unveiled in all their glory in the cloudless sky; and they are described as "in the firmament" which to the eye they appear to be, though we know they are really at vast distances from it. two great lights--In consequence of the day being reckoned as commencing at sunset--the moon, which would be seen first in the horizon, would appear "a great light," compared with the little twinkling stars; while its pale benign radiance would be eclipsed by the dazzling splendor of the sun; when his resplendent orb rose in the morning and gradually attained its meridian blaze of glory, it would appear "the greater light" that ruled the day. Both these lights may be said to be "made" on the fourth day--not created, indeed, for it is a different word that is here used, but constituted, appointed to the important and necessary office of serving as luminaries to the world, and regulating by their motions and their influence the progress and divisions of time. Daily Sermon 3/19/2011: The Beginning Part 4
Hello My Brothers & Sisters another glorious day! Today we will be discussing the third day of Gods creation. So without further or due lets get started!!! Lets look at Genesis 1:9-13:
9 And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning--the third day. let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place--The world was to be rendered a terraqueous globe, and this was effected by a volcanic convulsion on its surface, the upheaving of some parts, the sinking of others, and the formation of vast hollows, into which the waters impetuously rushed, as is graphically described ( Psalms 104:6-9 ) [HITCHCOCK]. Thus a large part of the earth was left "dry land," and thus were formed oceans, seas, lakes, and rivers which, though each having its own bed, or channel, are all connected with the sea ( Job 38:10 , Ecclesiastes 1:7 ). let the earth bring forth--The bare soil was clothed with verdure, and it is noticeable that the trees, plants, and grasses--the three great divisions of the vegetable kingdom here mentioned--were not called into existence in the same way as the light and the air; they were made to grow, and they grew as they do still out of the ground--not, however, by the slow process of vegetation, but through the divine power, without rain, dew, or any process of labor--sprouting up and flourishing in a single day. Daily Sermon 3/18/2011: The Beginning Part 3
Hello My Brothers & Sisters today we are going to talk about God creation of the second day. Real quick lets take a look at Genesis 1:6-8:
6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water."
7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning--the second day. firmament--an expanse--a beating out as a plate of metal: a name given to the atmosphere from its appearing to an observer to be the vault of heaven, supporting the weight of the watery clouds. By the creation of an atmosphere, the lighter parts of the waters which overspread the earth's surface were drawn up and suspended in the visible heavens, while the larger and heavier mass remained below. The air was thus "in the midst of the waters," that is, separated them; and this being the apparent use of it, is the only one mentioned, although the atmosphere serves other uses, as a medium of life and light. And there was evening, and there was morning--the first day. Whether the sun was created at the same time with, or long before, the earth, the dense accumulation of fogs and vapors which enveloped the chaos had covered the globe with a settled gloom. But by the command of God, light was rendered visible; the thick murky clouds were dispersed, broken, or rarefied, and light diffused over the expanse of waters. The effect is described in the name "day," which in Hebrew signifies "warmth," "heat"; while the name "night" signifies a "rolling up," as night wraps all things in a shady mantle. divided the light from darkness--refers to the alternation or succession of the one to the other, produced by the daily revolution of the earth round its axis. first day--a natural day, as the mention of its two parts clearly determines; and Moses reckons, according to Oriental usage, from sunset to sunset, saying not day and night as we do, but evening and morning.
